Art & Soul at Allerton: Peony Painting
Join us in the awe inspiring Peony Garden at beautiful Allerton Park to “paint the peonies”. Local artist, Cara Stoerger will assist those who want to paint in a step by step method or if you prefer, choose a spot in the garden and paint away at your own pace! All materials including canvas, paint, brushes, etc. will be supplied, as well as some light springtime refreshments!

Art & Soul at Allerton: Fu Dog Watercolor Workshop
Are you fascinated by the Fu Dogs at Allerton Park? The eleven pairs of cobalt blue glazed ceramic Fu Dogs are some of Robert Allerton Park's most recognized and loved statuary.
Join us in the Allerton Mansion Library for a watercolor painting class! Students will paint their very own Fu Dog with the guidance of local art instructor Cara Stoerger.
All materials and supplies will be provided. Refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available

Art & Soul at Allerton: Fall Leaves Pastel Workshop
Join us for an evening working with pastels to capture the beauty and color of fall leaves. Local artist Cara Stoerger will lead this fun and creative drawing project and teach you a variety of textural, line, color, and blending pastel techniques! This class has limited seating so register today!
All art materials will be provided and light refreshments will be served.

Art & Soul at Allerton: Wildlife Drawing - Red-Tailed Hawk
Artists and naturalists come join us in the Allerton Mansion Library for a rare life drawing class featuring a red-tailed hawk from the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic.
Deepen your connection to nature as you take inspiration from a beautiful bird of prey – the red-tailed hawk. Observe basic bird structure, characteristics and subtle details of one of the most common birds of North America. Use line, texture and color to capture the vibrant beauty of this fascinating hawk!
Nate Beccue, area artist and Allerton Natural Area Manager will lead the art workshop. Graphite, colored pencils and Bristol board will be provided. Finished art will be matted at the end of the evening and ready to frame. U of I Wildlife Medical Clinic representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about the red-tailed hawk.

Art & Soul at Allerton: Pumpkin Painting Workshop
COME BE INSPIRED...Instructors from the Monticello Area Arts Council will lead this pumpkin decorating workshop, as well as provide a variety of materials & techniques to showcase your personal style. Come relax, invite friends to join in for hauntingly fun evening in the mansion! Yummy fall refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. Payment is due at the time of registration and space is limited.

Art & Soul at Allerton: Pysanky - Ukrainian Egg Decorating
Join artist Johanna James and learn the beautiful and traditional art of Ukrainian egg decorating. Johanna will share fascinating facts about the history of Pysanky, then take you through the step by step process using wax and dyes. All materials are provided and light refreshments will be served.
You will create a beautiful egg to take home!

Art & Soul at Allerton: Canvas Painting Workshop
Come join us in the library of the Allerton Mansion for a fun filled Art & Soul at Allerton Workshop brought to you by the Monticello Area Arts Council and Allerton Park & Retreat Center.
Take inspiration from one of the most recognized and beloved pieces of park sculpture- the beautiful and intriguing Fu Dog! Local artist, Cara Stoerger will instruct participants in a variety of acrylic painting techniques to capture the characteristics, textures, and expressions of the Fu Dog.
This class is for all levels, including beginners and designed for ages 14+. All materials will be provided including a 16 x 20 Canvas. Don’t miss this fun painting evening!
